Border Defense Corps in Tibet holds donation activity

In order to further deepen the activities of the strategy of loving people and consolidating the border defense and replenish the “People-Loving Fund”, the Border Defense Corps in Tibet Autonomous Region organized the whole officers and soldiers of its organs to carry out the “Poverty Relief Donation” activity.
The donation activity was held on the principle of voluntariness. Fu Peng, Political Commissar of the Border Defense Corps in Tibet took the lead in contributing money, followed by other members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Corps and other officers and soldiers. A total fund of 17,100 yuan (2,692.91 U.S. dollars) was raised in this activity.
The Border Defense Corps in Tibet has established the “People-Loving Fund” through organizing the officers and soldiers to make donations voluntarily for years. The donation activity is held once or twice every year, and all the donations have been contributed to the children of Tibet’s Lhasa Welfare Institution and the needy elders in the community of the station of the Corps. These donees enjoy aid by groups in the Corps’ activity of loving people and consolidating the border defense. Wang Yanhong, deputy director general of the Discipline Security Division of the Political Department of the Corps, also donated money in the activity. “It is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation to help the poor and care for the needy friendly. As the border defense officers and soldiers, we should actively respond to the call and carry forward the spirit of mutual help and love to aid the needy people with sincerity and philanthropic act, thus making contributions to the poverty relief work of Tibet,” Wang said.
