Precious Tibetan cultural relics exhibits in Shanghai
"Treasures of the Snow Plateau—Exhibition of Precious Tibetan Cultural Relics" opened on Oct. 27 at the China Art Museum, Shanghai, people.cn reported.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Tibet Autonomous Region, the "Loving China, Charming Tibet Autonomous Region" Tibetan Culture Week was held during the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, becoming an important platform to publicize, showcase and carry forward the fine traditional culture of Tibet.
Cultural relics are both historical sediments and cultural carrier. As an important part of the multiculture of the Chinese nation, Tibetan culture is also a gem of the world culture. Tibet boasts rich historical and cultural relics, including the world cultural heritage sites such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Monastery and Norbulingka, the cultural relics protection units at various levels, tremendous amount of religious scriptures such as pattra-leaf scriptures and Tibetan Tripitaka, world-famous mural paintings, Thangka, Tibetan Buddhist statues, colorful ethnic costumes and magical unique folk arts and crafts.
Since the peaceful liberation of Tibet in 1951, Tibet’s cultural relics work has achieved a historic leap. Large numbers of precious cultural relics have been effectively protected and rationally utilized. Tibet’s cultural relics undertaking is glowing with new vitality in the new historical period.
