LHASA,Oct.27(China Tibet Online)--At the invitation of the fourth World Buddhist Forum, the Chinese Thangka masterpieces exhibition started in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Oct. 23, and is scheduled to last for 20 days.

The exhibition will feature around a hundred pieces of contemporary Thangka artworks, including paintings by intangible cultural heritage masters and inheritors, as well as outstanding works by young painters. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition will also display some of the best pieces of old Thangka works from the Ming and Qing Dynasties(1368-1911). These pieces of old Thangka are well preserved with distinctive religious characteristics and high research value.

Thangka is a unique form of Tibetan Buddhist arts and a bearer for religious culture. It is mature and exquisite in artistic techniques and profound in cultural values.
