Overseas travel salesmen to talk business at Tibet's tourism fair

More than a hundred travel salesmen from Russia, India, South Korea, Australia, Canada and other 13 countries will attend the Second China Tibet International Tourism Culture Fair that will be held from Sept.28 to 30, China News Agency reported.

A special "2015 Tibet tourism promotion" will be held at the Fair to set up a platform for face-to-face exchanges between travel businesses, said Karma Tseten, executive deputy director of Tibet Tourism Development Committee.

The major highlight of this year’s Fair is that the leading farmers, who made their money through tourist operation and services, have been invited to share their own experiences and interact with the guests.

"Personal experiences from the farmers involved in tourism will help inspire us, making this forum more productive", said Karma Tseten.

At the same time, a special Tibetan tourism exhibition hall was set up at the Fair, showcasing Tibet’s achievements in tourism development, folk customs, tourism merchandise, food and beverages.

Up until now, Tibet has nearly 2,000 tourism enterprises,  its industrial fixed assets has reached 20 billion yuan (31.36 billion U.S. dollars), and its employers engaged in tourism economy has amounted to 300,000 including 82,200 farmers with an annual per capita income of 8,076 yuan.
