Traditional horse racing held in Tibetan-inhabited areas
Tibetan horsemen held horse racing on Aug. 26, 2015 in the Sangke prairie in northwestern China’s Gansu province. Seven Tibetan tribes in Sangke hold this traditional racing on the 13th day of the 7th lunar month every year. [Photo/Chinanews.com]
About 30 horsemen participate in the horse racing every year. They are children between 6 years old and 12 selected from each tribe. Herdsmen begin to tame their horses ten days or half a month before the racing. [Photo/Chinanews.com]
