Siwa Nunnery
The Siwa Nunnery is located eight kilometers away from the Aba County. It is a relatively large scale nunnery of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. One of this nunnery's unique characteristics is the spiritual practice of nuns, and it is a wonderful place to visit in order to understand more about Tibetan Buddhism. The annual average temperature is around 2.7 degrees centigrade, and the nunnery is 513 kilometers away from Chengdu, and 254 kilometers away from Barkam Town.
Kirti Monastery
The monastery is located in the northwestern corner of the Aba County, which is 505 kilometers away from the provincial capital city Chengdu of Sichuan Province, and 246 kilometers away from Barkam Town.Being a large Gelug Sect monastery with complete practice specialties in Aba County as well as the entire Amdo area, Kirti Monastery is especially known for its enormous temples and vast amount of Buddhist monks. The pagoda of the Kirti Monastery is well known throughout the entire Tibetan-inhabited areas, and the temple is steeped in religious and cultural atmosphere. The average yearly temperature is around 3.3 degrees centigrade, however from May to October, the temperature is 14 degrees centigrade.
