It is the crop-ripening time in Tibet, and in an two-mu (about 0.33 acre) field land there are some farmers doing their annual ceremony by marching around it.
The field, located under the foot of Yumbu Lhakang, Nedong County of Lhoka Prefecture, is considered as the first field land in Tibet with a history of over 2,100 years. Crops produced here is seen as the origin of all the crops on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Each year at the crop-ripening time, often falls on the sixth or seventh month of Tibetan calendar Tibetan would celebrate Ongkr Festival, in which "Ong" means the field and "Kor" means walking around in Tibetan language, so it means walking around the crop fields to express the farmers' yearning for a good harvest.
