The 13th Peach Blossom Festival is scheduled to kick off in Nyingchi Prefecture, southwest China’s Tibet, on Mar. 30, 2015, People.com reported.

Themed as "Meet in Nyingchi and enjoy the best spring in China", the peach blossom festival will last until Apr. 20.

Besides Nyingchi County, the opening ceremony will also be held simultaneously in six other counties, including Zayul, Pome, Menling, Lang, and Kongpo Gyamda.

Regional authorities said the blossoming is happening earlier this year, beginning last Thursday and continuing until Apr. 30.

A series of activities will be held in local counties during the festival.

From Mar. 20 to 26, song and dance performances with strong ethnic Deng features will be put on in Zayul County. Visitors can enjoy local delicacies, plant peach trees and tie true love knots.

From Mar. 25 to 29, a horse race will be held in Pome County. Besides the race, tourists also have the opportunity to visit exhibitions on photography, folk costumes, featured commodities, and intangible cultural heritage.

From Mar. 30 to Apr. 6, Kala Township will hold a series of song and dance performances.

From Mar. 30 to Apr. 20, a joint ceremony between the Grand Canyon Scenic Spot, Nanyi Valley and Sesu Manor will unveil the new Sesu Manor Photography Base. Visitors can also take part in a drawing workshop themed "The Peach Garden over the cloud".

From Apr. 1 to 20, song and dance performances will be held in Zhuo and Bare villages.

On Apr. 20, the closing ceremony of the Peach Blossom Festival will be held in Kongpo Gyamda County, since the flowering is relatively late there.

Furthermore, during the festival, a total of 1000 couples who travel to the 4A scenic spots will receive free exquisite souvenirs when they fill in a card named "Falling in love in the Peach Blossom Garden", on a "first come, first served" basis.
