Magic mountain on the sky road
Mount Dawagengzha is surrounded by a sea of clouds on Nov 4, 2014, in Baoxing county of Ya'an city in Southwest China's Sichuan province. Dawagengzha, which means "magic mountain" in the Tibetan language, covers about 200 square kilometers and is 3,900 meters above sea level. Last month, a 24 km "sky road" passing Dawagengzha was opened to traffic to improve the life of the local dwellers, who are mostly Tibetans. The sky road, featuring lakes, forests, canyons and grasslands, also offers a great sightseeing platform to drivers to see Mount Siguniang on the north, Mount Pagela on the south and the Gongga Mountains to the west.
