"The expo is wonderful," said Jim, from Boston, the U.S. who visited the exhibition of the First China Tibet Tourism and Culture International Exposition held in Lhasa from Sept. 25 to 27,2014.
Another visitor, Bonnie from Montreal, Canada who has studied Tibetology before and understood Tibetan letters, stopped her steps in front of one piece of art work at the expo.
Standing next to Bonnie, Tashi Dondrup, a Tibetan calligraphist observed the great interest of Bonnie towards Tibetan culture, and then written "Zha Xi De Le" (meaning all the best in Tibetan) to Bonnie.
On the first day of the exhibition, jointly sponsored by China's Ministry of Culture, the China National Tourism Administration and the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, there are flocks of locals and tourists from home and abroad.
The expo, which is the first expo of its kind held in China's Tibet Autonomous Region aims to create a high end stage for tourism exchanges and cultural promotion between the Tibet Autonomous Region and the rest of China as well as the world at large.
Jim said, it was a pleasure to have the chance to join the expo for he had only traveled to Tibet for three days, "Through the exhibits, I can have a better understanding of Tibetan culture, I am surprised by the exquisite Tibetan-style handicraft of Thangka, paintings and sculpture."
During the expo, activities including the Tibet's Thangka Masterpiece Exhibition, the Exhibition of Tibet's Cultural Industry, Tibet's Best Cultural Relics Exhibition, the promotion of the Top Scenic Spots Boulevard as well as the tourist products trade fair were conducted.
