Aid Tibet cadres dedicate life to Tibet's development

Editor's note: upon the 20th anniversary of aiding Tibet, China Tibet Online tells the stories of those aid-Tibet cadres, who devote their life to Tibet's construction and development. They work hard without complaint and formed strong relationships with local residents.

Kong Fansen, cadre devoting life in Tibet

Kong Fansen (1944-1994) is an aid-Tibet cadre who devoted his life to the reconstruction and development of Tibet.

Chosen to be an aid-Tibet cadre, he spent two periods working in Tibet: from 1979 to 1981 and from 1988 to 1994. During his time there Kong made major contributions to Tibet’s development in various aspects, such as economy, culture, education, sanitation and civil administration. Unfortunately, he was killed in a traffic accident in November 1994.

He spent three years in Shigatse Prefecture as the deputy secretary of CPC Committee from 1979. During this period, he formed close ties with local residents. Full Story

Zhou Guangzhi, cadre sows seed of love on snow plateau

Zhou Guangzhi is an aid-Tibet cadre who dedicates his life to Tibet’s economic progress and well-being of local residents.

Born in Xinghua City in middle Jiangsu Province in 1965, he was admitted to the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the age of 22. He voluntarily applied to aid Tibet in 2007 when he served as the deputy director general of the Safety Supervision Bureau of Taizhou City.

When his term of office ran out in 2010, he chose to stay in Tibet because of the care for local residents and economic development, keeping sowing seed of love on snow plateau. Full Story

Zhang Guoping, aiding Tibet medical career

Zhang Guoping, former director of Maternal and Child Health Office of Ningbo Health Bureau in eastern China's Zhejiang Province as well as one of the fourth group of aid Tibet cadres, acts as director of Biru Health Bureau and Biru County Hospital.

During his staying in Tibet, Zhang has served the Tibetans heart and soul. Full Story

Xu Dongsheng, giving up holidays for work

Xu Dongsheng, an aid Tibet cadre from Shandong is the vice secretary of Xigaze Party committee. Xu serves the locals heart and soul. He is the only person who serves as aid Tibet cadre but didn't go back home for Spring Festival. Full Story

Wang Jianping, geological expert devoted to the plateau

Wang Jianping, director of Henan Geological Survey Institute, was an aid Tibet cadre before. Wang has worked in Tibet for 13 years for the geological survey. Full Story
