Tibet protects breeding Tibetan antelopes

All of the 130,000 expectant Tibetan antelopes have arrived at their breeding area in Tibet, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The Forestry Security of Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet released that these antelopes had arrived at the area near the Siu Mountain for breeding after a long way of migration.
It is expected that the Tibetan antelopes will migrate to the primary habitat with their offspring at the beginning of July.
"The local Forestry Security has launched the co-protection to guarantee the safety of the breeding Tibetan antelopes with the help of local protectors", said Xire, the head of the Forestry Security of Nagqu Prefecture.
Besides, the breeding Tibetan antelopes living in the Nagri Prefecture have arrived in their breeding area, the Kunlun Mountain located at the junction between Tibet Autonomous Region and northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Tibetan antelopes, one of the national priority protected wild animals, mostly live in an area of over 800,000 square meters crossing the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the southwest China’s Qinghai Province.
There are about 200,000, accounting for 80 percent of Tibetan antelopes living in the Changtang National Protection Zone, the second largest land natural protection area of the world.
