1st plastic recycle production line put into use in Tibet

The first waste plastic cyclic utilization production line was currently put into service in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet, ending Tibet’s history with no renewable resource recycling system, Xinhua reported.

The move will accelerate Tibet's pace of environmental protection by minimizing the garbage pollution.

Dong Guanli, technical director of the system, pointed out the production line adopted advanced technology which won't cause secondary pollution during the treatment.

"It releases zero emissions and is environment-friendly,"said Dong.

With the soaring economic development and growing urban population, there sees a sudden increase of recycled rubbishes like plastic bottles and zip-top cans, which definitely embarrasses Lhasa’s image as an international tourists city, according to Li Zhiqing, an expert with renewable resource.

"The line will not only greatly alleviate the city's inadequateness in handling renewable resource but help boost Tibet's construction of national ecological barrier," he added.

The Tibet Branch of China Development Bank has provide a total of 200 million yuan financial support to enable the establishment of the line, according to head of the bank.
