Tibet has made greater efforts in the employment of disabled people during the first three months of the year to better serve and help the disabled in the region, chinatibetnews.com reported.

During the three months, also the employment assistance months for the disabled in Tibet, the Disabled Persons Federation will investigate the employment and training status of the disabled and provide one-to-one career service or counseling for them.

The federation will give referral service for those who need professional training and vocational assistance.

"We have selected 10 stars from the disabled employees to encourage the self-dependence of the disabled," said Guo Haifeng, director of the training center of the Disabled Persons Federation in Tibet.

According to statistics, the 57 employees recommended last year were highly appreciated by the employers with the maximum wage reaching 4,500 yuan (744 US dollars) per month.

The Disabled Persons Federation intends to make 200 disabled people employed in 2014.
