A Tibetan photography exhibition by father-and-son Rinpoches was launched in Sri Lanka's former capital Kandy on Nov. 29, according to Xinhua.

The exhibited pictures demonstrate Old Tibet and Tibet throughout the years after the peaceful liberation, which are taken by the 10th Demo Rinpoche Tenzin Gyatso (one of Tibet's earliest photographers) and his son Demo Wangchuk Dorje (the contemporary vice-chairman of Tibetan Photographers Association).

D. M. Jayaratne, prime minister of Sri Lanka, attended the opening ceremony and visited the exhibition, speaking highly of the great development in Tibet after the peaceful liberation.

He said, with the exhibited photos, the 10th Demo Rinpoche and his son provided the people in Sri Lanka a window to see Tibet and played a positive effect in promoting non-governmental contact among the people from the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wu Jianghao pointed out that Tibet had made progressive achievement in developing social economy, improving people's livelihood and protecting traditional culture and environment, which could be seen from the pictures taken by the Rinpoche father and son.

He said their photography exhibition offered the audience a good chance to learn the past and present of Tibet.

The exhibition is co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka's Federation of Overseas Chinese and the Srilanka-China Journalists' Association.
