6th Dalai Lama Culture, Tourism Festival to be held
The 2013 Culture and Tourism Festival with the theme of the 6th Dalai Lama 's love songs will be held from August 8th to 14th in Lhoka Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, according to Xinhua.
By then, tourists can enjoy beautiful Tibetan love songs performed by locals from the Tsona County in Lhoka Prefecture, hometown of Tsangyang Gyasto, the household name of the 6th Dalai Lama, according to the organizer.
The festival will showcase the culture splendor and mental outlook of the Monbas, one of the ethnic minorities living in Tibet, also an ethnic minority from which Tsang Gyasto comes.
According to the plan, various folk activities will be performed, including drinking and singing competitions, Monba dramas, cultural relics display and commodity exchanges.
The year 2013 marks the 2nd time of the festival, with the first being held in May, 2012.
