Qusum County kindergarten officially opened in this September with its first batch of 75 kids. It is the first standard kindergarten in the whole county, and also one of the key projects aided by Huangshi city, Hubei Province with a total investment of 3 million yuan and a floor area of up to 1,000 square meters. It is equipped with 6 professional teachers and 2 nursing staff.

Gedain Lodro, the principal of the kindergarten, is a shy young Tibetan. Although only aged 24, he has been working on preschool education for 5 years. After giving a brief introduction of the kindergarten, he led a tour to the classroom and the bedroom.

On the walls of the classrooms hang charmingly na?ve cartoon characters and on the ceilings dangle paper-folded stars and moons. "These are folded by the teachers on Teacher's Day in order to welcome new kids," said Gedain proudly.

In the bedroom, beds are lined up neatly with clean sheets and quilts. "In the past there was only one kindergarten with insufficient facilities in the county There was only one teaching building, no canteen and no bedroom," said Gedain with emotion. Right now, the new kindergarten not only has classroom, canteen, bedroom, but also exempts kids from their tuition fee and board wages.

"Thanks to the Party’s policy, kids in Qusum County are able to enjoy happy childhood," said Gedain Lodro with a gratified smile.
