Tibet Sports Bureau honored "2011 National Advanced Unit for Social Kungfu"

Tibet Sports Bureau was hornored as the "2011 National Advanced Unit for Social Kungfu" for its outstanding achievement in promoting kungfu sports by the Sports General Administration of China.

In 2011, the bureau made greater efforts to carry out the fitness sports in accordance with the national fitness regulations, setting off the fitness upsurge across the region.

The bureau promoted kungfu fitness exercises at Tibet's middle and primary schools, held the first Taijiquan race (Taijiquan, a kind of traditional Chinese shadowboxing) among regional authorities and set up a team to take part in the Sixth International Taijiquan Exchange Competition held in Jiaozuo, a city of central and east China's Henan Province.

It made the kungfu sports full of vigor and vitality on the snowy plateau and became one of the popular fitness means among all ethnic groups in Tibet.
