China's Ministry of Finance recently remitted 1.7 billion yuan (about 250 million USD) from the central government's budget to for herders' settlement houses and assorted infrastructures.

The favorable settlement project covers the pastoral areas across Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and Tibet, to substantially improve the local herders' living conditions.
