New leadership elected in CAPDTC Executive Council
The Second Conference of China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC ) wrapped up its last agenda.
Drukhang Thubten Khedrup, vice president of the Political Consultative Conference of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and vice chairman of China's Buddhism Association, living Buddha of Tibet's Shabten Monastery, Geleg, deputy chief and senior researcher of China Tibetology Research Center, Wu Shuqing, member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Ngabo Jigyon, chairman of Association of Industry and Commerce of TAR were all elected new members of the Executive Council of the CAPDTC, who delivered speeches in Tibetan language at the conference.

Phagpalha Geleg Namgyal, vice president of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the Political Consultative Conference were elected co-Chairmen of the CAPDTC's second-term Executive Council. The first term was formerly chaired by Ngabo Ngawang Jigme.
Zhu Weiqun, vice minister of China's United Front Work Department, Lhapa Phuntsok, chief staff and researcher of China Tibetology Research Center, Jamyang Losang GyumeyThubten Chokyi Nyima, deputy director of the Ethnicity Committee of the National People's Congress of China, vice chairman of China Buddhism Association, president of China's Tibetan Language Buddhism Institution, living Buddha of Labrang Monastery in southwest Gansu Province and other 13 directors were also elected Vice Chairmen of CAPDTC. More than half of the leaders above are Tibetans.
Vice Minister Zhu Weiqun was elected Secretary-general of the CAPDTC. Du Qinglin, minister of the United Front Work Department and Raidi, vice chairman of the People's Congress of TAR were granted titles of honorary presidents of the Association.
Besides, a total of 47 newly-elected directors were appointed members of the CAPDTC Standing Committee.
