Chinese Tibetologists talk about Tibet development in Zurich, Switzerland
A delegation of Chinese Tibetologists visited Zurich on March 28, and a symposium with overseas and local students of Federal Institute of Technology Zurich was held by introducing the real situation on the development of Tibet's economy, heritage and culture.
Tibetologist Tenzin Lhundrup introduced the current opportunities and challenges in Tibet. The earthshaking changes in social and economic development happened in Tibet with thousands of college students graduating every year, and numbers of farmers and herdsmen benefiting from comfortable housing projects, he added.
The central government has attached great importance to the protection of cultural relics in Tibet and established over 50 institutions of Tibetan studies.
Dawa Tsering, researcher of China Tibetology Research Center introduced the development of Tibetan culture and religious freedom according to his own personal experience. He said:" Tibetan's religious freedom was respected and places of religious worship and cultural activities were under a level of protection. The living environment and life quality of Tibetan believers and monks are improving with local economy developing. "
Some scholars had affirmed the Chinese central government's policy on Tibet and impressed by the great achievements made in the autonomous region.
