Power corporation to launch renewable energy projects in Tibet
The China Guodian Corporation, one of the nation's largest power generation groups, has recently signed the Energy Projects Cooperation Agreement with the Tibet Regional Government in Lhasa, capital of Tibet.
Under the agreement, the Beijing-based corporation will vigorously undertake Tibet's clean and renewable energy projects such as hydropower generation, wind power generation, solar photovoltaic generation and geothermal power generation.

Zhu Yongpeng, general manager of the corporation, said that his company will step up cooperation with the Tibet Regional Government so as to make greater contributions to building a prosperous, harmonious and eco-friendly Tibet.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), the China Guodian Corporation will invest three to five billion yuan RMB (430 to 730 million U.S. dollars) in building power stations in Tibet.
By the end of 2015, the installed generating capacity of the power plants built by the China Guodian Corporation is expected to reach 240,000 kw.
