The United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee recently held a conference in Beijing, on which work priorities for the coming year were outlined.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the meeting. Sun Chunlan, head of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting.

Ministers and officials with the United Front Work Department of provinces, municipalities and other places also attended the meeting.   

Yu Zhengsheng confirmed the united front work over the past year, including the policies and measures implemented by all levels of government to promote the development of non-public sectors of the economy and urge people in these sectors to maintain confidence.

He added that energy should be spent to consolidate and develop social stability in Xinjiang and Tibet, and do a good job in servicing and managing the mobile population of ethnic minorities through adhering to equal treatment and governance according to the law. 

Sun Chunlan, when talking about this year’s work, said that officials of all levels should push forward work in all related areas steadily, solve problems and break new ground in the spirit of innovation, and continue to implement the major decisions of the CPC Central Committee.  

China’s united front work mainly involves organizing and coordinating the democratic Parties, ethnic minorities, religious groups, non-public sectors of the economy, intellectuals outside the Party, the new classes and handling affairs related to Tibet and Xinjiang.
