The 2016 Tibetan Plateau Emergency Medicine Development Forum was held in the Military General Hospital On the morning of the 20th. More than 150 people from Lhasa and hospitals from across the region attended the forum. The forum mainly involved lectures, professional and technical training, exchanges and other means.

Professor Xiaodong of the Emergency Medicine Committee said that, despite there being relatively rapid development in emergency medicine in Tibet in recent years, it has always been limited by geographical environment, economic conditions, management systems and other factors. Development has lagged behind due to new technology and knowledge arriving later in Tibet and exchange with mainland experts being limited. It is hoped that these can be mitigated through this forum. This forum will bring benefits to many Tibetan soldiers and civilians, by saving more lives. It will also have a profound impact on the long-term establishment and development of emergency medicine on the plateau.

After the meeting, Liu Hanbin, Chief Officer of the Tibet Military Hospital Emergency Center, shared some first aid knowledge easily accessible to people.
