"Don't take nature for granted. It has its own life," said the little Dekyi Yangzom seriously with blinking clear eyes.

As a grade-two student in the Lhalu Primary School, little Dekyi Yangzom is a senior environment protection guard. She loves nature very much. "The happiest thing for me is to go to Guosengka with my family,"said Dekyi Yangzom yearningly, "Guosengka is a very beautiful place. I hope I can be there every day. I don’t want people to build houses or litter in Guosengka."

Dekyi Yangzom likes going to Lhalu wetlands as well. On common school days, her teachers often take her and her classmates to Lhalu wetlands to pick up rubbish.

Dekyi Yangzom also feeds "pigeons" during the vacation in Lhalu wetlands. She doesn't know that the so-called "pigeons" are Brownheaded Gulls and Barheaded Geese, which are wild animals under sate protection. However, no matter what they are called she knows clearly that these lovely creatures need protection.

She always tells people in an adult tone, "pick up rubbish whenever you see it and don't walk away with a single look." Dekyi Yangzom also "educates" her parents at home, "rice rinsing water can be reused to water flowers. Face washing water can be reused to mop the floor." If her mother does not turn off tap while washing face, she will be very angry.

Green is Dekyi Yangzom's favorite color. On the Arbor day, Dekyi Yangzom and her classmates planted a "tree of growth". This tree will grow up with these children under their care. "I will put on cotton for this tree in winter and water it in summer. With my protection, I hope it can grow taller and greener, and blossom when I enter the university."

Every child is close to nature in heart. Just like Dekyi Yangzom, kids take "nature" as an important friend in life, and pass on the big “green dream” with their small actions.
