Tibetan children with congenital heart disease arrive in Beijing for treatment
Children with congenital heart disease from Nagri, Tibet arrive in Beijing for heart treatment.
Another batch of 19 children patients with congenital heart disease from Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region arrived in Beijing for free surgeries on November 21, 2012.
It is reported that the Tibetan children, aged from 9 to 21, are beneficiaries of a charity project entitled “For our children”. Carried out by China Charity Federation and Air Force General Hospital, the project will provide free surgery and other treatment for the young patients.
Launched since February 26, 2011, the charity project has cured more than 1,615 young congenital heart disease patients from disadvantaged families of various ethnic minority groups from Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, among whom 789 children are from Tibet.
It is the second batch of children from Nagri who came to Beijing for free treatment. They were given good care on the train the and in Beijing after arrival.
