The level of Tibetan social welfare has been speeded up effectively in recent years, especially the medical and health benefit and annual payment limitation of medical insurance fund.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the medical and health benefit for Tibetan farmers and herdsmen has increased by 20 times during the last ten years, from 15 yuan in 2001 to 300 yuan in 2012, and the annual payment limitation of medical insurance fund has raised to 60,000 yuan.
In order to promote the local medical insurance level, China’s central finance has kept increasing special grant fund for Tibetan rural and pastoral areas in recent years. At present, Tibetan farmers and nomads pay the insurance cost on a voluntary basis, and the average standard has reached 20 yuan each person per year. The reimbursement amount is six times of annual per capita net income of Tibetan farmers and herdsmen and should be no less than 50, 000 yuan.
