Tibet’s first emergency mobile clinic to be used

Handover ceremony of Tibet’s first emergency mobile clinic was held on Sept. 25, 2012, which announced its operation and further improvement of emergency medical service in remote plateau areas of Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

Consisting of a series of vehicles, the clinic contains comprehensive units including medical treatment rooms, wards and logistical support units, which give full play to its advantages of mobility, accessibility, emergency and timeliness, to meet the requirements of functioning in case of public emergencies timely, even in vast rural areas.

The facility will enable doctors to carry out clinical examinations, X-ray tests and surgeries, and it is also equipped with devices to provide water and to generate oxygen and power, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The clinic is developed by the Academy of Military Medical Sciences of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
