Helping Tibetan children with CHD

A charity program “For Our Children” was conducted in Nagqu Prefecture recently. Jointly carried out by China Charity Federation and Navy General Hospital, the project aims at conducting congenital heart disease (CHD) screening and providing free treatments for diagnosed Tibetan children.

Cao Yi, cardiologist of Navy General Hospital, endured serious altitude reaction and kept conducting screening for local children while uptaking oxygen. Similar with him, many other members of the medical team also persevered in forefront clinical work, to help the local children patients.

Locating in central region of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Nagqu Prefecture is at an average altitude of more than 4,500 meters, which makes the local children much easier to suffer from congenital heart disease.
