Navy General Hospital's expert medical team visits Tibet

The Feng Lida Expert Medical Team of the General Hospital of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), currently performing medical treatment services in the Linzhi (Nyingchi) Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region, visited Mirui Township to offer charity clinic services for the local people on August 30, 2012.

The team also went hundreds of kilometers deep into the Gasa pastoral area to deliver medical services and medicines to the herdsmen.

The team arrived at Mirui Township of the Linzhi County at 10:00. The local people who had been waiting lined up spontaneously to receive such medical services as physical examination, B-ultrasonic check and health consultation. During the four-hour-long work, the team performed a total of 400-plus persons/times of examinations for Tibetan people.

Since August 2010, the General Hospital of the PLA Navy has selected and sent 18 medical experts in 5 batches to the Health Service Center of Linzhi County, its supporting counterpart. So far, the medical team has diagnosed and treated local patients by 10,000-plus persons/times, with 2,400-plus times of charity clinic and health consultations held.
