With the industrial project construction sped up, the industrial fixed assets investment increased sharply in the first half of 2010, the growth rate higher than that of the whole fixed assets investment of Tibet, according to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

Since the end of 2009, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of TAR has added 15 projects to the former 22 key industrial projects in accordance with the plan of the Central Government of China and the local government of TAR.

A total of 31.65 billion yuan was allocated for the 37 key projects, with 12.7 million yuan already invested.

Of the 37 projects, 8 were completed with a total investment of 4.79 billion yuan, 12 projects are still under construction, and 17 projects in the preparation stage will be started this year.

In the first half of 2010, the industrial fixed investment reached 4.085 billion yuan, up 74.3% compared to the same period of 2009.
