Tibet's taxpayers list reflects optimized economic pattern

Tibet's taxation authority issued a new list on Apr.27 to honor the region's top 100 taxpayers in 2010, through which Tibet has witnessed leap forward economic growth.

Figures to supplement the list shows that in 2010, wholesale and retail industry ranks first by turning in 15.6 billion yuan, taking up 30.8 percent of the total. Manufacture industry follows with  9.7 percent, 491.6 million yuan in tax payment. Mining industry contributes 432.1 million yuan, equivalent to 8.5 percent, as the third pillar for Tibet's tax receipts.

Changes can also be found as follows: First of all, the threshold to be listed is raised from 4.5 million yuan in tax payment to 5.89 million yuan; secondly, the number of 100-million yuan taxpayers increases to three from one last year; thirdly, modern service industry’s great progress reflects Tibet's diversified economic pattern; last but not least, new enterprises appeared in this list, indicates that the region's economy is booming.

A number of distinctive industry enterprises, including Tibet Lhasa Beer Cooperation, Tibet's 5100 Spring Water and some Tibetan medicine companies are also credited because of their remarkable contributions to Tibet's tax revenue.
