Union Pay announced on May, 24 that its card can be used in the Himalaya areas in Tibet now thanks to their continually progressed service system. 

People who in charge of Union Pay's business in Tibet said that the action aims to provide more convenience to local Tibetans and tourists, especially the Himalaya climbers from both China and abroad. Tingri County, located in the embrace of many high mountains, is where the first POS and other financial services can be accessed.

In recent years, tourism booms with the equal fast growing economy and the successful launch of Qinghai-Tibet railway. To make the tourists and consumers feel more convenient, many stores, markets, hotels and other people-related areas have widely applied POS, ATM machines. So that Union pay customers can use their cards in the remote high land area.
