Financing channels open for Tibetan enterprises

An agreement of the development-oriented financial support for Tibetan small and medium-sized enterprises was signed between China Development Bank and Tibet Financial Guarantee Corporation in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

The agreement marked the easing of the financing difficulty faced by  the Tibetan small and medium-sized enterprises.

At present, there exists a large gap in the financial guarantee system between TAR and the inland, with the number and portfolio of financial guarantee institutions relatively falling behind.

Meanwhile, most Tibetan minor enterprises remain at the development stage, demanding lager-scale capital circulation, therefore badly in need of the financial support from banks and financial guarantee companies.

The signed agreement will help advance the implementation of TAR's economic development strategies. It will not only produce positive impacts on the economic development, but also on the rapid development of financial guarantee business for new born companies.

Since 2002, China Development Bank has carried out pilot work among some inland small and medium-sized enterprises.

As of the end of June, 2010 altogether around 1.462 million minor enterprises have received financial support from China Development Bank with the total loans hitting 172.9 billion yuan. The loan balance has amounted to 76.8 billion yuan with non-performing loans taking up only 0.9%.

The released loan from China Development Bank has achieved a breakthrough in TAR. It has signed a loan contract of about 20 million yuan with Tibet Mingzhu Satellite Navigation Technology Application Company, financially guaranteed by Tibet Financial Guarantee Corporation.
