The total trade volume of Zham port is expected to exceed 0.3 billion dollars, hitting a record high.

Since the state highway G 318 linking China and Nepal and Zham's No.1 parking lot were put into use, the infrastructure of the Zham port has  greatly been improved, which paved the way for the development of the border trade, according to Bawam, Party secretary of Zham Township,

Two factors have contributed to the flourishing of the border trade. First, border and social stability has laid a good foundation for the trade development. Second, higher quality of services offered by offices concerned has sped up the customs clearance process.
