Balagezong Scenic Spot, located in the Shangri-La County of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province was reopened in August of 2014 after one year restoration and reconstruction, receiving thousands of visitors per day.

In August of 2013, an earthquake of 5.1 magnitudes hit the Shangri-La County and destroyed the only road of Balagezong Scenic Spot connecting with the outside world. The scenic spot was once closed.

After the earthquake, the local tourism sector had invested over 300 million yuan (about 49 million U.S. dollars) to reconstruct the Balagezong Scenic Spot.

Balagezong Scenic Spot boasts snow mountains, canyon, glacier, river, plateau lake and primeval forest, and its Balagezong snow mountain is the highest peak in Shangri-La County.
