During the 63 years after Tibet's Peaceful Liberation, there were three construction climaxes taken place in Tibet's modernization process.

The first falls on 1960s when many basic industries had been built and completed in Tibet. The second falls on 1980s when the 43 construction projects had been invested, and all the projects had large scale and limit schedule. The third period falls on 1990s when the famous 62 construction projects had begun. The period owns many distinctive characteristics such as great investment, multiple subjects, vast scale, and large proportion of infrastructure and productive projects. The construction achieves larger scale and more investment each time since the beginning.

The three construction climaxes were all formed under the support of the central government, and its scale and influence has exceeded its own benefits. From the perspective of social benefits, the three construction periods had vigorously promoted the modernization of Tibet.
