Since 2010, Tibet has launched the pilot work of rural residential environment construction and comprehensive improvement in the administrative villages, aiming at achieving clean water, clean countryside, and clean homeland.

With the theme of utilization of rural disposals, clean of the agricultural production, urban-rural unification and ecologicalization of village development, Tibet has implemented dozens of key projects, including farmer book store, perfection of village medical equipments, solar public lighting, village road construction and village sewage treatment.

Take the Lhopa folk village which is located in the Mainling County of Nyingchi Prefecture as an example, people get the first impression of the small village as beautiful, clean and tidy. Everything needed is ready.

From 2010 to 2013, thousands of villages like Lhopa folk village has changed dramatically. The Tibetan people's way of thinking has also changed. Along with the 318 National Road, villagers have built many happy farmhouses, attracting lots of tourists. The happy house has brought local people tremendous benefits and also left the tourists a clean and beautiful impression of Tibet.

By the end of 2012, Tibet has arranged the pilot work on rural residential environment construction and comprehensive improvement in 2500 villages. It is predicted that 5453 administrative villages in Tibet will complete the pilot work by the end of 2015.

The rural residential environment construction and comprehensive improvement will promote the construction of new socialist countryside in Tibet and benefit the Tibetan farmers and herdsmen.
