The first self-driving camp in Chamdo of Tibet to be launched

With a total investment of eight million yuan (about 1.3 million U.S dollars), the first batch of self-driving camp project in the Chamdo Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region has started building recently.

The project includes two camps in the Kese Village of Bangda Township and Wa Village of Raog Township which are located in the Baxoi County and one camp in the Drukha Village of Rongme County of Mangkam County.

The whole project covers over 2000 square meters and a construction area of about 1500 square meters. Items under construction include the tourist information center, parking lot, camping sites and sign boards.

It is planned to accept 20,000 tourists each year after completion. The project will perfect the tourism infrastructure around the 318 National Highway scenic zone and play a positive role in promoting the tourism comprehensive reception capacity of the Chamdo Prefecture.
