Pagri Town, located in the south of Himalayan Mountains and bordering on the Kingdom of Bhutan on the east, is 50km away from the Yadong County and 250km away from the Shigatse City. Being one of the most important border towns of the Shigatse Prefecture in Tibet, the Pagri Town is known as the "world's highest town" with an average elevation of 4,640 meters.

The residents of Pagri Town are used to engaging in business deals because of the special geographic conditions. Therefore, the little town is very rich, as the outsiders could see from the shops and houses of the local people.

When the Yadong Coungy in its heyday as a commercial port, the Pagri Town has become the transfer station to all directions and the name "Pagri" has also spread across the world with the trade caravans.

In some sense, the Pagri Town lies on the demarcation point of north and south of the Himalayan Mountains. The valley is deep and the river flows to the south. Walking to the south, we could find the elevation is lower and lower. The warm wind from the Indian Ocean blows over the south slope, making the air moist and the vegetation abundant.

Not far away from the east of Pagri Town, there standing the Rechung Portok Monastery, which is also the biggest monastery in the Pagri Town.

Because of the warm moist air from the Indian Ocean, the Pagri Grassland owns abundant rainfall and becomes one of the most fertile grasslands in Tibet.

Every summer, the Pagri Grassland is known as the "colorful meadow" with multicolored flowers.
