Recently, every alley of the Barkhor Street of Lhasa is installed a woody tourist guide map, showing clearly the various information of food, housing, transportation, travel and shopping in the old town.

In the meantime, the backgrounds of 77 ancient courtyards and historical buildings are equipped with the tourist introductions made of Marnyi Stone.

Tourists will never be lost when walking through the criss-cross alleys. The woody tourist guide map is affectionately called "the encyclopedia of Barkhor Street" by tourists.

"We are looking for the famous Makye Ame and just see it on the map. It's so convenient, otherwise we will get lost in the alleys of the Barkhor Street," said one of the tourists.

The Barkhor Street has 87 alleys with countless teahouses, restaurants, apparel shops, handicrafts shops and local specialty shops. The 87 woody tourist guide maps offer conveniences for the tourists from home and abroad.
