Yang Yujiao, a tourist visiting Nyingchi and Lhoka of Tibet has set her next destination, Nepal. From Konggar Airport of Lhasa to Katmandu, as a photography enthusiast, she took some photos of Mt. Qomolangma for memorial in the airplane.

The air route from Lhasa to Katmandu opened on September 12, 1987. As the Tibet’s only international route, it has been operating safely for over 20 years, building an air bridge for China and Nepal.

"Now the six prefectures and one city in Tibet have owned five civil transport airports, which are all plateau airports, possessing the support capacity of night flight. There are altogether 8 aviation companies with 54 air routes in Tibet, connecting 31 cities. Since the implementation of '12th Five-Year Plan' (2011-2015), the civil airports in Tibet have altogether ensured 58,000 sorties of safe flights, 6.192 million person times of passenger throughput and 45,000 tons of goods throughput, with average growth rates per annum of 22.2 percent,23.1 percent, 34.5 percent," introduced by the responsible person of Tibetan civil aviation.

At present, Tibet has been exploring the international air routes with the cities of neighboring countries, such as Karachi, New Delhi and Osaka, creating conditions for international tourism and economic exchanges.

Tibetan aviation's development for decades has become the profound memory for people on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The air passage has changed from the forbidden area to the transportation junction of domestic and international communication. It's a miracle in the history of Tibetan aviation and the miracle will continue.
