Tibet holds vocational training to perfect mountai

As an important part of the Tibetan mountain-climbing winter skill training, the sixth high mountain vocational training class was opened in the Tibet Climbing School in Nov. 27, 2013.

The training will last for one month and over 150 members from the Tibet Mountaineering Team, Tibet Mountain-climbing Management Center, Himalaya Expedition Company and Tibet Climbing School will attend the training class, which has reached a record high.

The training aims to strengthen and improve the technological level and professional proficiency of the mountain-climbers, exchange the ideas of mountain-climbing from home and abroad and expand the trainees' horizon, therefore, further improve the Tibet mountain rescue system and promote the industry of mountain-climbing in Tibet.

According to information, the training has invited leading experts in related fields including mountain camera shooting, mountain medicine, mountain atmosphere, environmental protection, wild rescue, Tibetan history, astronomy, and foreign affairs. The training has updated the related knowledge and introduced the multimedia content for the first time.

Nyima Tsering, deputy director of the Sports Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region said that the content of training class is rich and colorful, in the same time, the invited famous photographers will bring "mountain camera shooting" as a key course to cultivate compound type of talents.

Nyima Tsering also added that the training will bring advanced idea of mountain-climbing and develop a perfect Himalaya Mountains rescue system through multi-media education model and the successful experience of the past training activities.

Tibet held the first high mountain vocational training activity in 2008. All previous trainings have perfected the mountaineering theoretical knowledge of the trainees, improved the professional skill level of the trainees and won consistent praise of the athletes, coaches, guiders and amateurs. The future training will be a routine activity in Tibet with larger scale and richer content.
