Financial literacy popularized in Tibet University

The publicity campaign of "financial literacy into the campus" was cohosted by the Central Branch Bank of Lhasa of the People's Bank of China, Youth League Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, Tibet Branch of China Construction Bank and Tibet University in the new campus of Tibet University on Sep. 16, 2013.

Except for the explanation of the financial knowledge including bank card, gross settlement, credit investigation, national debt and anti-counterfeit RMB, the organizers also carried out professional trainings for the financial knowledge publicity volunteers in the Tibet University.

Thousands of Tibetan students attended the promotion campaign, listening carefully to the introduction of counterfeit identification and personal credit report. The mutilated RMB exchange was also set up.

Pan Congyuan, the division head of credit management office of the Lhasa Central Branch Bank of the People's Bank of China, said that the campaign relates to all aspects of financial knowledge, aiming to make more students know about the finance, especially pay attention to their credit report, maintain their own credit, and establish the credit consciousness of "cherishing credit record, enjoying happy life".

Two financial literacy lectures were also held in the School of Finance and School of Economics of Tibet University on Sep. 17, 2013. The related professionals were invited to teach students the financial expertise, as well as the recruitment requirements of commercial banks and applying skills. They were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers.

The publicity campaign of "financial literacy into the campus" is part of the service month themed with "promoting financial knowledge among the masses". The month aims at publicizing financial literacy of banking industry, which was launched in Lhasa of Tibet on Sep. 2, 2013.
