The Tibet-Qinghai Industrial Cooperation Framework Agreement was signed by the two People's Governments of Tibet Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province recently, indicating a new breakthrough in the regional cooperation of the two China's provinces.

The industrial park is situated in the Golmud City of Qinghai Province, mainly used for deep processing of the Tibetan distinctive resources. It is an effective platform for Tibet and Qinghai to seek for complementing each other's advantages and making win-win cooperation.

As an important traffic aisle between Tibet and Qinghai, the Golmud City is a classic resource processing industrial city with good economic foundation, strong environmental carrying capacity, huge development potential, rich resources and lower production costs.

"Through the construction of the industrial park, on the one hand, it will promote the development of Tibet and the Golmud City, on the other hand, it will provide advantages for the operation of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Qinghai-Tibet Railway, stimulating the development of logistics, information, communicating and commercial trading between the two places," said Yang Yong, the division chief of Industrial Coordination Unit of the Development and Reform Commission of Tibet Autonomous Region.

He added that the Tibet-Qinghai industrial cooperation is an inevitable choice for Tibet to step on the new industrialization road and enhance self-development capacity.
