Located in South Tibet, the Trigu Township of Comai County in Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet won fame for winning two gold awards of the 2012 National Residential Classic Architectural Design Proposal Contest which is known as the China's Oscar in property industry.

They are the National Residential Classic Planning Gold Award on the Overall Planning for the Trigu Township of Comai County in Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet and the National Residential Classic Environment Gold Award on the Detailed Townlet Planning for the Trigu Township of Comai County in Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet respectively.

Walking into this small ancient township, the tourists are mostly impressed by the local people's happy life, the following photos will show you the flat road, ethnic dwellings, beautiful kindergartens, and people in flexible time.

Housing security

The Trigu Township, with the two gold awards, shows its best town planning. The newly designed residential areas have begun to take shape. During the recent years, the herdsmen who repair their old houses or build new houses are provided with subsidies by the local government.

Except for the house, infrastructure such as the township's Nursing Home and Women and Children's Hospital are all constructed.

Hard-packed roads

By the end of 2012, the "Village to Village" regional project in the Trigu Township had completed the construction of hard-packed roads covering the whole township. The local people finally bid farewell to the old dirt roads. Through the asphalt road to the county town, it takes tourists only one hour to finish the journey, which would cost 5 hours before.

School enrollment

In the Trigu Township, the most beautiful buildings are the schools. There are two elementary schools, three learning places and a newly built kindergarten.

The government of Trigu Township implements an educational project of "three guarantees", which means the government pays for students' living, food and tuition during the primary and secondary education.

In addition, the "Nutrition Lunch" project in middle and primary schools will be continued this year.

The local people of Trigu pay great attention to education, therefore, the township's school-age children enrollment rate reaches 100 percent.

The bilingual education of Tibetan language and Mandarin is popularized in kindergarten and primary schools. Moreover, senior students also learn English.

When the schools holidays start, families who have students will receive the living necessities, such as food, oil, and beverage from the township government.

Happy life
It is still five days before the Tibetan New Year, the local people are already at ease: children are playing around and women are making new clothes for the coming new year.

The agriculture of Trigu Township bases on the livestock industry. During the past years, the market condition of animal products gets better and better, which helps the local people earn much more money.
