Five Tibetan schools receive 20 mln donation

On December 15, 2012, a photo exhibition themed “frontier affection, frontier trip” and a donation ceremony for Tibetan schools was held by the Standing Committee of the NPC in Henan Province together with Chinese Photographers Society in Beijing.

On the donation ceremony, the Shineway Industrial Group, one of the famous Chinese large-scale enterprise, donated 20 million yuan( about $3.204 million) to schools in five remote counties in Tibetan Autonomous Region.

According to the report, in order to thank the Shineway Industrial Group, the TAR also did a lot of research and preparation, and chose the schools from Lhasa, Ngari, Nyingchi, and Xigaz.

With another 16.04 million yuan (about $2.57 million) educational fund, Tibet aims to construct these target schools to high level ones of classy quality and to send more kids to the spacious and bright classrooms.
