First Tibet resource recycling terminal market to be inaugurated in 2013

The main body of Lhasa resource recycling terminal market, with 200,000 annual processing ability, has completed recently and is expected to be put to use early next year. It is the first of its kind in Tibet. It will strengthen Tibet's ability to process recycling resources and fill in the blank of resource recycling system, thus better conserving Tibetan environment.

Lhasa resourcerecycling station is located in Yamda village, Doilungdeqen County 12 kilometers away from Lhasa, with the total scope reaching 154.4 thousand square meters. Till now the total investment has exceeded 50 million Yuan and a multi-functional area taking a floor area of 120 hectares has been established. It includes a metal trade area, a plastic trade area and a paper trade area.

"Upon completion, this project will normalize the market order of resource recycling in Tibet as well as better protect Tibetan environment" said Li Zhiqing, manager of Yixing recycling corporation contracted to build this project.

According to statistics of Tibet Resource Recycling Association, Tibet has 350 thousand tons of resource per year yet only 200. tons are recycled.
