Tibet's industrial economic growth continues to rank first

The industrial economy of Tibet Autonomous Region has continued the favorable growth of 2017 and ranks first in the country since the beginning of this year, according to the region's Department of Industry and Information Technology.

In January and February, the industrial value added of enterprises above designated size increased by 14.3 percent, which is 7.1 percentage points higher than the national average.

Yangjen, director of the Office of Monitoring and Coordination of the Department of Industry and Information Technology, said that since this year, Tibet has taken various measures to promote the steady growth of the industrial economy and further optimize the environment for developing enterprises in the region. At the same time, Tibet has continued to improve and innovate the monitoring system for the industrial economy, increasing analysing and monitoring efforts on data of industrial economic operations. Efforts have been made to improve support capabilities for key factors and levels of control through strengthening communication and coordination with transportation departments, reasonably scheduling transports in and out of Tibet, and effectively alleviating contradictions in seasonal supply and demand of raw materials.
