Tibet's fixed broadband internet charges fall 30 pct

In 2016, Tibet's fixed broadband internet charges fell to 40.6 yuan (5.8 U.S. dollars) per household per month, attaining a year-on-year fall of 31.4% and making it the biggest drop across China, according to TAR's Communications Administration.    

A total of 353 million yuan was invested in broadband network construction in the region last year. The telecommunications operators had strived for providing users with simple, preferential broadband packages.    

China Telecom Tibet Branch, carrying out one marketing activity from June last year, has gotten 25,733 users so far.  

For China Mobile Tibet Branch, it took only 18 yuan for the threshold of internet.  

China Unicom Tibet Branch reduced broadband rates by 30 percent.
